Writing

Frosted grasses on a hillside. In the distance, snow-capped hills and a white sky with slate grey clouds

I like to write dark, folkloric tales and epic-ish fantasy. You’ll find no big battles in my stories – my characters skirt the sidelines, hide in the shadows, mess up a lot. They’re all just doing their best (or sometimes their worst) in a shitty world.

My current work-in-progress follows a sad disaster of a mage running from a toxic ex through a flooded world of ruins and tattered magic.

I’m also rewriting a fun* novel about a very angry repressed lesbian assassin who has a dangerous obsession with the sea.

I have about thirty of these bad boys in various stages of drafting. But you can listen to (or read) my very first(!) short story publication on the Lesbian Historic Motif podcast:

It’s almost a historical lesbian love story… I just can’t resist a bit of the weird…
